The Green Bay Packers weren’t given much of a chance to win their game against the Dallas Cowboys during Super Wild Card Weekend. They were the second biggest underdogs in that round of the playoffs, but you wouldn’t have known it by how the game unfolded.
The Packers went into AT&T Stadium and dismantled the Cowboys. They took the opening drive right down the field for a touchdown and never looked back. Green Bay scored the first 27 points of the game and led by as many as 32 in the second half.
In a game that was set up for Dak Prescott to finally show he was capable of performing in the postseason, it was his quarterback counterpart who showed out. Jordan Love, the Packers’ first-year starter, put together an incredible playoff debut.

Love was on fire in the second half of the regular season and carried that momentum into the postseason. In his final eight regular season games, Love had a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 18-1, leading the Packers to a 6-2 record to earn the No. 7 seed in the NFC playoffs.
No No. 7 seed had won since the NFL expanded the playoffs before the Packers on Sunday afternoon. Love was a big reason why, as he had a huge game. He completed 16-of-21 passes for 272 yards and three touchdowns.
That performance was eerily similar to what rookie C.J. Stroud did in his debut on Saturday for the Houston Texans against the Clevland Browns. Stroud had two more yards, as their attempts, completions, touchdowns, interceptions and passer ratings of 157.2 were identical.

That passer rating fell just short of an NFL record. Had Love not attempted a pass on the team’s second to last drive of the game, which was dropped by rookie tight end Tucker Kraft, he would have become the first quarterback in league history to record a perfect 158.3 passer rating in their playoff debut.
While that history wasn’t made, this was still a memorable performance by Love and the Packers’ offense. After having three decades worth of Hall of Fame production under center with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay looks to have hit on yet another quarterback as the 2020 first-rounder certainly looks the part of a franchise quarterback.
