Amidst a wave of legendary football coaches retiring or transitioning to new roles, one can’t help but ponder who might be the next to step away from the game. However, it seems that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid won’t be among those bidding farewell to the gridiron anytime soon.

During his Thursday press conference, Reid, currently 65 years old, displayed no inclination towards contemplating retirement.

“I haven’t even thought about that. I’m thinking about one thing. I figured that would come up when you guys were asking these questions because I’m old — but, not that old.”

For an impressive 11 seasons, Reid has commanded the helm of the Kansas City Chiefs. Throughout this tenure, he has consistently achieved remarkable success, with 10 out of those 11 campaigns featuring double-digit wins and playoff appearances.

Even in what could be perceived as a somewhat “downturn” in the regular season in 2023, where the Chiefs wrapped up with an 11-6 record, the team managed to secure their astounding eighth consecutive AFC West title.

This remarkable accomplishment highlights the enviable situation in which Reid finds himself as the head coach of the Chiefs.

As the postseason beckons, Andy Reid and the Chiefs are gearing up for their playoff journey, commencing on Saturday night. They will face off against the Miami Dolphins, with the game set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET, and the excitement is palpable.
