As the Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for a pivotal divisional showdown with the Cleveland Browns, longtime Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Gerry Dulac has offered a clear window into the organization’s thinking ahead of the NFL’s November 10 trade deadline.

Appearing on the 102.5 DVE pregame show Sunday morning, Dulac indicated that general manager Omar Khan and the front office are not actively pursuing deals and have little interest in parting with current players.

“They’re not looking to make a move, and they’re certainly not looking to get rid of one of their players,” Dulac said.

He added that the team’s approach is closely tied to its results.

“If they go 6-2, they certainly won’t trade one of their players because they figure they’re a contender. If somebody comes knocking, you never know what might be out there, but right now they’re not actively thinking we need to make a trade,” Dulac said.

The comments come as Pittsburgh rides a three-game winning streak following a 16-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Paris.

The Steelers enter the Browns game tied atop the AFC North, though Cleveland holds the head-to-head tiebreaker after a 27-24 Thursday Night Football win earlier in the season.

A fourth consecutive victory would solidify their position as the race intensifies, with remaining divisional contests against Cincinnati and two more against Baltimore still on the schedule.

Much of Pittsburgh’s early success has been driven by 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers in what is expected to be his final NFL season.

Rodgers has thrown for 1,699 yards while completing 61.6 percent of his passes with 13 touchdowns against five interceptions.

The defense has also stabilized after an uneven start, ranking among the league’s better units in total yards allowed and run defense.

In recent weeks, the front has limited high-profile backs, holding Jonathan Taylor to 45 yards and Bucky Irving to 46 while shutting down the Saints’ ground game to just 11 yards.

Wide receiver has been widely viewed as a potential area of need, with names such as Indianapolis Colts wideout Josh Downs surfacing in rumors and the team having been linked to various defensive additions.

Dulac’s reporting, however, suggests the organization is comfortable waiting for injured receivers including Michael Pittman Jr., Roman Wilson, and Ben Skowronek to return rather than forcing a deal.

The stance reflects a measured approach from a team that currently sees itself as competitive without external reinforcements, even as the deadline approaches and opportunistic calls could still arise.

For now, Dulac’s assessment points to the Steelers trusting the roster they have assembled under Rodgers and a defense that has found its footing.
