Tom Brady is done with incremental steps and moral victories for the Las Vegas Raiders. The NFL legend and team minority owner is pushing for immediate, significant gains as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
Brady shared his unfiltered assessment during a recent appearance on the “Stick to Football” podcast alongside English soccer icons.
He made clear that last season’s shortcomings were widespread and unacceptable, setting a tone of accountability across the entire organization.
“It’s everybody’s fault. That’s the reality,” Brady said, via Pro Football Talk. “There’s nobody who did a good job. There’s not one player in the organization, there’s not anybody involved that did the job to the level that it needs to be done at. And everybody needs to improve. And it starts with me, and it filters down to the rest of the players on the field, and they’ve got to go out there, and ultimately they’ve got to perform at a high level.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion avoided setting a specific win target for the Raiders, who have combined for just seven victories over the past two seasons. Instead, he emphasized broad progress that must occur consistently.
Brady said he is looking for “a lot of improvement” and described his vision as “massive improvement” that should show up daily and even hourly. His comments reflect growing involvement in team operations following a disappointing campaign that positioned Las Vegas to select first overall in the draft.
For the Raiders to align with Brady’s vision, much will depend on how the quarterback position develops. Veteran Kirk Cousins anchors the room while mentoring rookie Fernando Mendoza, the No. 1 overall selection who has impressed with his work ethic but is not expected to start immediately.
The transition at quarterback adds nuance to measuring success this season. While wins remain the ultimate barometer, Brady’s focus on daily enhancement suggests patience with the process as Mendoza integrates into the offense.
