New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge Has Been on Historic Tear

The New York Yankees have run into some difficulties over the last few weeks. Since reaching 28 games over .500, the team has gone 5-11, dropping in the American League standings. One player who has done everything in his power to help stop the skid has been Aaron Judge.

Where would the New York Yankees be right now without him in the heart of their lineup? Their struggles would be more pronounced, as he is carrying the offense along with Anthony Volpe and Juan Soto.

Just how good has Aaron Judge been? Taking into consideration that he had a slash line of .197/.331/.393 after games on May 2nd. As we enter July, his slash line now sits at .316/.436/.708.

How have we gotten to this point? As shared by Alex Fast of MLB, he has been on a torrid pace at the plate over the last two months. In May, he finished with a slash line of /.361/.479/.918 with 14 home runs and a 274 wRC+.

In June, he was even better. Aaron Judge produced a slash line of .409/.514/.864 with 11 home runs and a 277 wRC+. There isn’t a player in the world more in the zone than the New York Yankees superstar right now.

This level of production is something we have never seen before. As shared by Paul Hembekides, a content producer of Get Up on ESPN, Aaron Judge just completed arguably the greatest hitting 50-game stretch in MLB history.

Over his last 50 games, he has a slash line of .398/.507/.932, recording an OPS of 1.439. That is the highest OPS over a 50-game span by a right-handed hitter ever.

What Aaron Judge has accomplished this season is insane, especially given the slow start that he got off to. The New York Yankees cannot let this performance go to waste, as they need to find some upgrades for the weaknesses on the roster.
