Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray experienced hamstring tightness late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 19-15 loss to the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

Murray indicated the issue arose late enough in the contest that it did not hinder his performance.

The quarterback is scheduled to undergo additional evaluation on Monday to assess the situation further.

“We’ll look at it, obviously, and do what we need to do,” Murray said, via Kevin Seifert of ESPN.

Murray entered the sideline medical tent after completing a touchdown pass with 8:44 remaining in the game.

He returned to the field for the subsequent drive and finished the contest without further interruption.

It remains unclear whether the brief tent visit related to the hamstring tightness or stemmed from a separate matter.

“Kyler Murray just had some hamstring tightness, and he was able to return late in the football game,” coach Kevin O’Connell said.

Murray completed 17 of 29 passes for 210 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding 35 yards on four carries.

The performance marked his first multi-touchdown passing game of the season as Minnesota’s offense managed just 15 points against a division rival.

Through six games this year, Murray has thrown for 1,022 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions on 100 completions in 154 attempts.

He has also rushed for 167 yards on 29 carries, providing a dual-threat element that has helped the Vikings navigate early-season absences.

The defeat dropped Minnesota to 6-1, ending an undefeated start and marking the team’s first loss since late in the previous season.

The Vikings generated only 81 rushing yards as a unit and totaled 266 yards of offense while Detroit controlled the clock and rushed for 230 yards.

Jahmyr Gibbs led the Lions with 153 yards and a touchdown as Jared Goff connected with Jameson Williams for the go-ahead score with 4:35 left.

Minnesota’s defense, which entered the game allowing the fewest points in the league, could not preserve a late lead after the offense stalled on its final possession.

The Vikings remain atop the NFC North standings despite the setback, with the Lions and Chicago Bears both at 5-2.

Murray’s hamstring will be monitored closely ahead of Monday night’s home matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Nov. 9.

The team has relied heavily on its defense while the offense ranks near the bottom of the league in points and yards per game.

Further updates on Murray’s status are expected after Monday’s evaluation as Minnesota prepares for a short week.
