Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson is one of the most dominant two-way players in the WNBA. Not only is she going to be in the running for the MVP award, she is also the favorite to win the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024.

In her seventh season in the WNBA, A’ja Wilson has already put together a very impressive resume. She was Rookie of the Year in her debut season, has been named MVP twice and is the two-time defending Defensive Player of the Year. In both of those seasons, the Las Vegas Aces took home the WNBA Championship.

Looking to become the first team since the Houston Comets, who won the first four WNBA Championships, to three-peat, the Las Vegas Aces are once again receiving incredible contributions from their star center.

Thus far this season, the South Carolina product is averaging 26.2 points, 13.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.6 blocks per game. The points, rebounds and blocks would all be career highs, while the steals would tie the previous high.

Given her level of dominance, it should come as no surprise that A’ja Wilson’s production to this point has been historic. As shared by Yahoo Sports, she has recorded 20+ points and 10+ rebounds in all five games to start the season. She is the first player in WNBA history to have such a five-game streak.

Without Chelsea Gray taking the court yet this season, the Las Vegas Aces have needed a little more from all of their players in the early going. A’ja Wilson has certainly answered the call, taking her game to another level as she cements her status as one of the best in the game.

The Aces are currently 4-1 on the season, with their only loss being against the Phoenix Mercury. They are first in the WNBA in points per game and offensive rating, while being middle of the pack defensively.
