The Chicago Bears are a team that many people are interested in watching during the 2024 season. General manager Ryan Poles has done a great job of upgrading the roster, and now we will get a behind-the-scenes look at the team in training camp. That is because the team has been selected to appear in this year’s season of Hard Knocks on HBO.
This will be the first time the Chicago Bears are on the show. Hard Knocks follows one team every training camp, going in-depth and pulling back the curtain. Alas, Chairman George McCaskey is not thrilled about HBO having access to the team ahead of the season.
“We’re told there is some interest in other teams being on the program and we welcome that interest,” McCaskey said.
Ultimately, the interest in those other teams was lower than it was in the Chicago Bears. There is a lot of appeal for football fans in the Bears, as the show will feature No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.
The USC product is a highly regarded prospect that Bears fans are excited to see on the field. This is the first time that a team that selected a quarterback No. 1 overall will be featured on Hard Knocks since the Cleveland Browns in 2018 with Baker Mayfield.
“We are honored to feature such an iconic NFL franchise on ‘Hard Knocks,'” NFL Films senior director and supervising producer Shannon Furman said. “The Chicago Bears have a talented roster, coaching staff and front office all determined to match the expectations of a hungry fan base. We are thankful to the entire organization for opening their doors to us for what is sure to be an exciting training camp this summer.”
The Chicago Bears are going to be the first team in the NFL to report for training camp. They are taking part in the Hall of Fame game this year against the Houston Texans in Canton, Ohio to kick off the preseason.
One of the up-and-coming teams in the NFL, it makes sense that HBO would select them as the team for Hard Knocks this summer. The New York Giants were selected in a new version of Hard Knocks that follows the team during the offseason, giving a look into free agency and the NFL Draft.
