Knicks Josh Hart Speaks on Difficulty of Overcoming Injuries

With the season over for the New York Knicks, Josh Hart recently reflected on the season and the injuries that derailed it.

It was both a great season and a tough season for the New York Knicks. New York finished as the second overall seed in the Eastern Conference but was unfortunately eliminated from the playoffs by the Indiana Pacers in the second round in seven games.

After making some savvy moves over the last few years, the Knicks looked like a true contender this season when the calendar flipped to 2024 after trading for OG Anunoby. Unfortunately for the Knicks, shortly after the big trade to get Anunoby, Julius Randle got hurt in what ended up being a season-ending injury.

Randle was the first of many Knicks to get injured throughout the season and into the playoffs. Despite all of the injuries, the Knicks found a way to have a very successful season, but it certainly feels like more could have been accomplished. Recently, Josh Hart spoke about the season and how the team tried to battle through injuries. Here’s what he had to say.

Hart was one of the players for the Knicks that stepped up, especially in the playoffs. During the postseason, he averaged 14.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. Josh Hart was logging major minutes for the Knicks in the playoffs, as he embraced the Iron Man role.

In expanded minutes, Hart emerged as the best rebounding guard in the NBA and was one of the best overall rebounders in the league. The comments made by Hart felt honest and made sense, as the Knicks were fighting an uphill battle for a long time until the Pacers finally knocked them off.

While the season-ending for the Knicks was a tough pill to swallow, the future does appear to be bright for the Knicks. The Villanova trio for New York which includes Josh Hart has built a winning culture once again for the franchise.
