It’s possible that Mason Rudolph has played his final game as a Pittsburgh Steelers player as he’s set to become a free agent in March.

After Monday’s game, he openly admitted that he’s uncertain about what the future holds when he hits free agency.

“I have no idea what’s going to happen. None of us in there know what’s going to happen tomorrow, much less next year. I’m still thinking about the game and the loss, and it hurts and it stings. And you know, we probably could have done better today. I think the turnovers early, myself included, didn’t really give us the ability to put our best foot forward. So, that’s what’s on the forefront of the mind right now.”

Rudolph stepped in for Mitch Trubisky when Trubisky faced difficulties, and he played a pivotal role in leading the Steelers to three consecutive victories before their playoff loss.

During those games, Rudolph showcased his skills by throwing for a total of 719 yards, contributing three touchdowns, and remarkably, avoiding any interceptions.

In the most recent game on Monday, Rudolph amassed 229 passing yards, connecting for two touchdowns while encountering one interception.

Although it appears unlikely that he will reclaim the starting position with the Steelers next season, Mason Rudolph’s impressive performance this year positions him well to secure a lucrative backup role with another team.
