Joe Flacco Has Sparked the Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns and Joe Flacco have won their second straight game. With the win, the Browns have been sparked by his play.

It has not been an easy season in terms of injuries for the Cleveland Browns. Early on in the season, the Browns lost their star running back Nick Chubb to a bad leg injury. The injury to Chubb looked like it would cripple the Browns’ season, but they were able to find a way without one of the best running backs in the league.

Shortly after the loss of Chubb, the Browns had to deal with an injury to quarterback DeShaun Watson. Watson was in and out of the lineup before his season was finally cut short with a shoulder injury.

After starting P.J. Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the Browns took a flyer on 38-year-old Joe Flacco. Flacco certainly has had a good career in the NFL, but after last season with the New York Jets, it appeared his playing days were over. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case.

In three games, Flacco has helped the Browns go 2-1 in that stretch, which included a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. While winning is the name of the game, the Browns haven’t been trying to just have Flacco manage a game for them, they are letting him sling it around.

Flacco has thrown over 40 times in each of the three games he has started this season, and the numbers are looking pretty good. Flacco has totaled 939 passing yards, seven touchdown passes, and five interceptions, and is completing just over 57 percent of his passes.

Considering Flacco came off the street to play for the Browns, what he has been able to do is astounding. While the Flacco story has been a fun one, the Browns are smack in the middle of a playoff race and are currently the No.1 wild card seed in the AFC.

With some winnable games coming up, the Browns are looking like a playoff team this year. Thinking about Flacco starting in the playoffs for the Browns is wild considering where he was a month ago, but it has become a reality. Hopefully, this wild ride for Flacco and the Browns continues.
