NFL Legend Reveals Intriguing Trade Scenario For Jets’ Zach Wilson

The New York Jets have apparently told quarterback Zach Wilson that they will be trading him this offseason, but the question is where?

Former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason thinks he has the answer: the Kansas City Chiefs.

Speaking on his show on WFAN this week, Esiason made his prediction for Wilson’s destination.

“He’s gonna end up in Kansas City with Andy Reid,” Esiason said. “Andy Reid is gonna pick him up, take him off the scrap heap and turn him into a quarterback.”

While Esiason himself has said he is not a fan of Wilson, he evidently thinks that Reid and the Chiefs’ organization can turn Wilson into a consistently productive player.

Wilson is coming off of arguably the best performance of his career this past Sunday, as he went 27-for-36 with 301 yards and a couple of touchdowns in a stunning 30-6 win over the Houston Texans.

The outing came one week after the 24-year-old was benched in favor of Tim Boyle. The Jets then decided to re-insert Wilson into the starting role, and afterward, reports surfaced that Wilson was somewhat reluctant to take the reins again. So, Wilson put forth that performance in the face of adversity, which is certainly an impressive feat.

Wilson entered the season in a backup role but was pressed into starting duty after New York’s prized offseason acquisition Aaron Rodgers suffered a torn Achilles on the Jets’ first offensive series of Week 1.

In 11 games and 10 starts this year, Wilson has thrown for 2,245 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions while completing 60.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 78.2.

Zach Wilson has gone 12-20 as a starter while totaling 23 touchdowns and 25 picks across three seasons.

The Jets are 5-8 and will take on the Miami Dolphins this weekend.
