New York Media Personality Rips Into Jets’ Aaron Rodgers: ‘Selfish Pig’

A media personality is not exactly thrilled with New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Rodgers has been activated from the injured reserve list and will be practicing with the team over the final several weeks of the regular season, but he won’t actually be playing in any games.

This means that Rodgers will occupy a roster spot, and that resulted in the Jets cutting fullback Nick Bawden.

Well, that didn’t exactly sit well with WFAN’s Shaun Morah, who went on a tirade ripping the future Hall-of-Famer earlier this week.

“This is why Rodgers is a pig,” Morash complained (via Ralph Ventre of Fan Nation). “This self-fulfilling, selfish, manipulating, dare I say monster now, is potentially going to take a roster check away from Nick Bawden for the final three weeks, who did nothing but be a good Jet all year.”

Bawden has played in all 14 games this season.

“Even if Bawden goes to the practice squad and then gets elevated, guess what?” continued Morash. “Some guy now before the holidays is going to get waived off the practice squad and lose his practice squad checks because your quarterback that’s done nothing for you is a selfish pig and has no reason being activated on this roster for three weeks. He’s got no reason to be on the roster, and now somebody’s losing their job because he’s a pig.”

I mean, Bawden was in the second year of a two-year, $2.2 million deal with the Jets, so I think it’s safe to say that he and his family are not exactly hurting during the Christmas season.

This rant by Morah is just another example of media members making a mountain out of a molehill, and it’s diatribes like this that tend to give sports media a bad name as a whole.

Plus, Morash is the same guy who criticized Jets quarterback Zach Wilson for spending time with his family during the bye week, so I’m not sure how much credibility he actually had to begin with.

New York acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster offseason trade with the Green Bay Packers. The Jets were expected to contend for a Super Bowl with Rodgers under center, but Aaron Rodgers ended up tearing his Achilles on the team’s first offensive series of the season, ending the club’s championship aspirations.

The Jets are 5-9 and will take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon.
