Green Bay Packers Coach Fires Back At FOX Announcer

Matt LaFleur
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay Packers’ head coach Matt LaFleur has expressed his discontent with FOX’s broadcast of the NFC Divisional Round Game on Saturday.

During the Packers’ unfortunate loss to the 49ers, FOX sideline reporter Tom Rinaldi disclosed a revealing comment from LaFleur regarding his kicker, Anders Carlson.

Rinaldi shared that LaFleur admitted to feeling a sense of anxiety every time Carlson attempted a field goal.

“[LaFleur] basically said, ‘When he goes out there, I just pray.'”

LaFleur has made it clear that he is not pleased with the fact that this quote was made public. In response, the Packers’ head coach stated that he was “extremely disappointed” with the decision to reveal his candid remarks.

Despite the Packers’ loss, the 49ers emerged victorious in the NFC Divisional Round on Saturday evening. San Francisco is now headed to the NFC Championship Game, where they will face off against the third-seeded Detroit team.

For the Packers, they are headed into an NFL offseason that is a very important one. They are a young team with a very bright future. However, that does not ease the pain of losing the game in the closing moments.
