Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes won’t be securing back-to-back MVP awards this season. On Wednesday, he publicly endorsed his choice for this year’s MVP recipient.

Not surprisingly, Mahomes is of the opinion that Lamar Jackson, the quarterback of the Baltimore Ravens, deserves the title of the league’s Most Valuable Player.

“He’s going to be the MVP for a reason. He goes out there, he leads his team, he scores, he runs, he throws. He does whatever it takes to win, and that’s what the greats do.”

If Jackson manages to clinch another MVP accolade this season, it will equal him with the Chiefs’ superstar in this prestigious category.

The mutual admiration between these two exceptional athletes is undeniable, as Jackson himself spoke highly of Mahomes during his own press conference on Wednesday.

“I don’t like competing against him at all. He’s a great quarterback. Definite Hall of Famer. That’s a no-brainer. He’s definitely a Hall of Famer. I believe it’s just two greats, two up-and-coming greats going toe to toe like a heavyweight fight. That’s what I see.”

The anticipation is building as Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are set to face off this Sunday in the highly-anticipated AFC Championship Game. The kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET, and you can catch the action on CBS. Fans could be in store for an instant classic between the Chiefs and Ravens.
