The potential landing options for Bill Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl champion, appear to be narrowing down. What seemed like a sure move to the Atlanta Falcons is now showing signs of uncertainty.

According to Josh Kendall’s report in The Athletic via Bleacher Report, the likelihood of Belichick becoming the Falcons’ head coach is no longer a guaranteed outcome.

The Falcons are no longer approaching the situation as a “Belichick or nothing” scenario.

This development follows the news of a dinner meeting between Belichick and Falcons owner Arthur Blank. Blank had been previously described as “desperately” wanting the former New England Patriots head coach to lead the Falcons.

Despite their interest in Belichick, the Falcons are actively exploring other options. They are conducting interviews with several top coordinators and coaching candidates, including Jim Harbaugh, the head coach of Michigan, Bobby Slowik, the offensive coordinator for the Texans, Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Lions, and Mike Macdonald, the defensive coordinator for the Ravens.

The Falcons made the decision to part ways with head coach Arthur Smith after three consecutive 7-10 seasons.

It’s worth noting that Bill Belichick is coming off his most challenging season as a head coach, which ultimately led to his departure from the team he had dedicated nearly a quarter-century to.
