The Philadelphia 76ers are not interested in trading for Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
The Bulls are looking to trade LaVine. However, the Sixers aren’t focused on acquiring the two-time All-Star.
“The 76ers continue to be mentioned as a potential suitor for Chicago’s Zach LaVine. Based on my conversations at the G League Showcase, I continue to believe they shouldn’t be,” Stein wrote. “League sources say that Philadelphia, if it indeed makes an in-season trade with the assets received in the Halloween deal that sent James Harden to the LA Clippers, is still prioritizing a two-way player … as well as a move that does not limit its future optionality.”
LaVine is averaging 21.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists this season in 18 while shooting 44.3% from the field, 33.6% from beyond the arc and 86.6% from the foul line. He hasn’t played since November 28 due to a right foot injury.

LaVine signed a five-year, $215 million contract with the Bulls in July 2022. He’s making $40 million this season.
The Sixers, after losing to the Miami Heat on Christmas, dropped to 20-9 on the season. They are one of the best teams in the NBA with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey leading the way.
LaVine’s trade value has decreased since the Bulls have played better without him. LaVine is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group.
“It’s not one team,” Paul told NBA reporter Sam Amick of The Athletic regarding the LaVine situation. “I don’t have a specific destination for Zach. I want what’s best for Zach and his family. When you have a guy playing the game, you want him to be able to play the game happy, whether that’s in Chicago or somewhere else.”

LaVine has career averages of 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Bulls. He is a two-time Slam Dunk Contest champion.
