Kevin Durant is frustrated with his situation with the Phoenix Suns, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The Suns entered the season with championship aspirations. However, they entered their Christmas game against the Dallas Mavericks at .500 (14-14).

“Start with Kevin Durant. You talk to people in Phoenix and around that organization, you know, they can feel the frustration with Durant,” Wojnarowski said. “Part of that, certainly, is the missed games for Brad Beal. This team was built around those three stars. The underwhelming supporting cast, that comes from those massive trades for Durant and Bradley Beal that really gutted the organization and let them having to sign a lot of minimum players to fill out the payroll.”

The Suns acquired Durant from the Brooklyn Nets last season and got Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards and Jusuf Nurkic from the Portland Trail Blazers this past offseason. They traded multiple draft picks and great role players and are now a very top-heavy team.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns Updates

Durant requested a trade from the Nets last season and wanted to get traded to the Suns to play with Devin Booker and Chris Paul. Phoenix lost to the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals in six games. Paul was traded to the Wizards for Beal and Deandre Ayton was sent to the Blazers for Nurkic.

Durant probably won’t request a trade from the Suns this season. However, it’s noteworthy that the superstar small forward is already frustrated in Phoenix.
