During the NBA’s Monday slate, Trae Young’s 31-point, 15-assist double-double led the Atlanta Hawks to a 130-124 victory over the Pistons, marking Detroit’s 24th straight loss. Young’s performance continued his impressive form, making it his fourth consecutive game with at least 30 points and 10 assists and his 16th double-double of the season.

“I was not going to let them break their streak against us,” Young said.

Despite the Pistons’ ongoing struggles, Cade Cunningham shone brightly with a career-high 43 points. Bojan Bogdanovic added 25 points for Detroit. Young’s leadership was pivotal in maintaining Atlanta’s early lead, established with a remarkable 9-12 three-point shooting in the first quarter.

“I want to win, we all do,” Cunningham said. “We’ve got a young team. We need these moments to learn and get better.”

Pistons coach Monty Williams praised Cunningham’s growth and leadership during the team’s challenging period, noting it as a vital experience for the young team. The Pistons are now just two losses shy of the NBA’s longest single-season losing streak, a record held by the 2010-11 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2013-14 Philadelphia 76ers.

“It’s tremendous watching his leadership through what will probably be the toughest stretch of his career,” Williams said.
