The Houston Texans shocked the football world with their performance in the 2023 season. They came out of nowhere to win the AFC South and even picked up a victory in the postseason. Looking to build on that momentum, they made a splash in the offseason by acquiring Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills.

Offensive Rookie of the Year, quarterback C.J. Stroud, has weapons galore around him. Stefon Diggs is joining a wide receiver group that already had the emerging Nico Collins, Tank Dell, veteran Robert Woods, Noah Brown and John Metchie III.

That is a loaded wide receiver group that, as the Texans also have tight end Dalton Schultz to rely on. In the backfield, veteran Joe Mixon was acquired from the Cincinnati Bengals to combine with Dameon Pierce.

This is a group that could be among the best offenses in the NFL. Stefon Diggs provides them with a bonafide No. 1 option, making life easier for all of his teammates. He should have a chip on his shoulder with how the 2023 campaign ended in Buffalo as well.

With mandatory minicamp opening this week for the Houston Texans, Diggs spoke to the media for the first time about being traded by the Bills. It was the second time in his career he was dealt, as the BIlls acquired him during the 2020 NFL Draft from the Minnesota Vikings.

“When I got to Buffalo, Josh was, and still is, my guy,” Diggs said. “People don’t really understand what it’s like to be out there. He really embraced me. We spent a lot of time together, and I probably wouldn’t be right here if it wasn’t for him.”

Stefon Diggs did admit that he was “happy” about being traded to the Houston Texans, but still has “a lot of love” for Bills quarterback Josh Allen. After four successful seasons in Orchard Park, the Texans are hoping Diggs can help take their offense to the next level.

Diggs made the Pro Bowl all four seasons with the Bills and two All-Pro teams; once on the first and once on the second. He has six straight seasons of at least 1,000 yards and six touchdowns and has recorded 100+ receptions in five out of the last six.
