As the NFL season heats up, the Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a critical matchup against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday, a contest that carries enormous implications for both squads.

Kansas City enters with a 5-3 record following an uneven beginning to the year. The team has recently shown signs of peaking, but suffering an additional defeat now could undermine the positive trajectory they’ve painstakingly developed.

On the Buffalo side, the Bills dropped back-to-back contests prior to their bye, and despite rebounding with a victory against the Carolina Panthers in their latest outing, the sting of those earlier setbacks lingers.

In the latest installment of his “New Heights” podcast, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce shared his thoughts on the impending battle, offering a glimpse into the strategy he feels is essential for Kansas City to emerge victorious.

“Getting [Bills running back James Cook] the ball is a pretty good strategy,” Kelce said.

“Yeah, so hopefully we can slow that down and keep putting up points like we’ve been putting up over the past couple of weeks.”

Cook delivered an impressive performance in the Bills’ recent triumph over Carolina, amassing 216 yards on the ground along with a pair of scores, solidifying his status as one of the league’s premier running backs.

Beyond containing Cook, Kelce gave props to Buffalo’s high-powered attack for their dominant 40-9 rout of the Panthers.

“I mean, they can score with the best of them, baby,” he said.

The Chiefs’ most recent contest on Monday proved memorable for Kelce personally. He hauled in his 80th regular-season touchdown reception, joining an elite group as only the fifth tight end in NFL annals to reach that milestone, per league research.

ESPN further noted that the score marked his 100th overall touchdown when factoring in playoff games, capping off a celebratory evening for the veteran star.
