The Denver Broncos have been linked to a possible trade for Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard as their own backfield deals with injuries and limited production early in the 2026 season.

Denver sits at 2-2 after four games and is set to visit the winless Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. The Broncos reached the AFC Championship Game after a 14-3 regular season in 2025, but the offense has looked uneven under first-year play-caller Davis Webb.

The team entered the year with J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Jonah Coleman as its top options at running back. All three have faced injury issues within the first month.

Coleman was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 26 with a high-ankle sprain.

“Source: With a high-ankle sprain, Broncos RB Jonah Coleman now will miss the next few games and be placed on short-term injured reserve today,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote. “Coleman is expected back for the Broncos’ game against the Cardinals in late October.”

Pro Football Focus reporter Bradley Locker listed Pollard among 15 trade candidates ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline and named Denver as a possible landing spot.

“The Titans look like one of few surefire sellers, and Pollard could finally be on the move in the final year of his contract,” Locker wrote. “Denver’s stable of running backs sits just 28th in rushing grade at the position.”

Pollard has cleared 1,000 rushing yards in each of the past four seasons, something no Broncos back has done since Phillip Lindsay totaled 1,011 yards in 2019. He reached the mark with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022 (1,007 yards) and 2023 (1,005), then with Tennessee in 2024 (1,079) and 2025 (1,082). He earned his only Pro Bowl selection after the 2022 season.

Through four games in 2026, Pollard has 221 rushing yards on 54 carries, a 4.1-yard average, with one touchdown and a long run of 18 yards. He has added eight catches for 24 yards. Locker noted a 73.6 PFF rushing grade that ranks 11th among 30 backs with at least 44 carries, along with 10 first downs and no fumbles.

Dobbins has handled 46 of Denver’s 72 running-back carries and is averaging 3.5 yards per attempt, down from 5.0 a year ago, with a 53.6 PFF rushing grade. Harvey has a 58.2 grade on 12 carries. The longest run by any Broncos back this season is 17 yards, and the team ranks 29th in rushing yards.

Pollard, 29, is in the final year of the three-year contract he signed with the Titans before the 2024 season. Tennessee is 0-4 and has been described by Locker as one of the clearer sellers before the deadline.

Denver’s offensive line has graded well in some areas, but the ground game has not produced consistent chunk plays. Adding a back with four straight 1,000-yard seasons would give the Broncos a proven option while Coleman is sidelined.

Any deal would depend on the Titans’ asking price and whether Denver wants to commit cap space and draft capital for a player who could leave after this season. Pollard’s current pace projects near another 1,000-yard year if his workload holds.

The Broncos have not confirmed interest, and no formal trade talks have been reported. The deadline remains more than a month away.
