Indiana Fever star rookie Caitlin Clark has taken the basketball world by storm. She is one of the most popular players in the world right now, regardless of gender, after he historic career at Iowa.
The No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, there have been some hiccups during her early tenure as a pro. But, she is handling things like a seasoned veteran, taking whatever jabs and physicality opponents throw at her to try and help her team win games.
A monthlong break is on the horizon, as the WNBA pauses so players can take part in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. That will be a great opportunity for Caitlin Clark to get some rest, as she was left off of Team USA’s roster this year.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, along with Joe Vardon, Mark Puleo, Ben Pickman and Chantel Jennings, the Indiana Fever star is not on the initial roster release. With international experience at the younger level, Caitlin Clark will have to wait a little longer to make her debut with the top team.
Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark is expected to be left off the 12-player Team USA women’s basketball roster for the upcoming Summer Olympics, according to sources.

A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewel Lloyd, Kelsy Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper will comprise the women’s 2024 Team USA in Paris. Winning every gold medal since 1996, Team USA looks well positioned to take home another gold.
There are only three players, Ionescu, Copper and Thomas who have zero Olympic experience. Seven players have been on Team USA, while two more have 3×3 experience. When Taurasi takes the court, she will be 42 and participating in her sixth Olympic Games. That will break a record held by five different men and women.
Should something arise that keeps one of those 12 players from participating, Caitlin Clark still may not make the cut. According to The Athletic, she is one of three players, along with Brionna Jones and her fellow Indiana Fever star Aliyah Boston, who would be considered as alternates.
