Former NFL superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown having beef with WNBA star Caitlin Clark was not something anyone had on their 2024 Bingo Board. But, in the age of social media, you never know what is going to happen in the world of sports and entertainment.

Antonio Brown, who we last saw in the NFL leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sidelines in a bizarre fashion against the New York Jets in 2021, has not garnered many positive headlines recently. His inappropriate and crude comments made toward the Indiana Fever have been what has kept him in the news recently.

As a result of what Brown was saying, he shared that Caitlin Clark blocked him on X, formerly known as Twitter. In an interview with Jason Whitlock, the former NFL star discussed what occurred and led to him being blocked.

At first, the interview seemed to be heading in a positive direction. Antonio Brown let it be known that he wanted to bury the hatchet with Caitlin Clark, voicing his admiration for what she is doing for women’s basketball. As someone with daughters of his own, Brown could appreciate that, and wanted to bring the focus back to her accomplishments on the court.

“Caitlin Clark, we love you. There’s no drama here. I’m excited about what you’re going to do for women’s basketball. You’re an amazing player. I love to watch your game. You bring a lot of excitement and energy,” Brown said.

“Continue to be great, continue to keep focus on being the best athlete you want to be. Continue to lead women’s sports and pioneering it the way you want to pioneer it. I have a daughter, they look up to you and look up to everything you guys are doing. So shout out to you, Caitlin Clark.”

It certainly seemed genuine, until Antonio Brown flipped the switch and once again opted to go the crude route. He made reference once again to the “joke” that got him blocked on social media in the first place.

“If it’s hairy, don’t worry about it,” he added. (H/T The Spun)

It would seem the positive words and wanting to bury the hatchet ring hollow for Antonio Brown. He just couldn’t help himself from taking another jab at Caitlin Clark, which isn’t going to help him get unblocked or garner any positive will from people looking on.
