Report: Hawks Initiated Dejounte Murray Trade Discussion With Pistons

According to NBA insider James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, the Atlanta Hawks initiated a trade discussion with the Detroit Pistons centered around Dejounte Murray.

Trade talks, though, didn’t go far since the Hawks wanted Ausar Thompson and Jaden Ivey.

“A few weeks back, the Hawks initiated a trade discussion with the Pistons centered around Dejounte Murray, league sources told The Athletic,” Edwards III wrote. “The Hawks were interested in Thompson/Ivey and other stuff of good value. Detroit had no interest, according to league sources.”

The Hawks are expected to trade Murray before the February 8 trade deadline. Murray has been linked to the Pistons, New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.
