Dejounte Murray Goes Off On Hawks Fans In Fiery Rant

NBA star point guard Dejounte Murray went off on two Atlanta Hawks fans who criticized his defense on social media.

Murray didn’t hold back while responding to the Hawks fans.

The Hawks are widely expected to trade Murray before the February 8 trade deadline. Murray doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t control where he gets traded.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks Updates

The Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and Brooklyn Nets are seriously interested in acquiring Murray, sources told NBA Analysis Network. The Hawks want two first-round picks for Murray, who has the same agent (Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group) as Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Hawks are only 18-25 on the season despite having Murray and Trae Young, two of the best guards in the NBA. Atlanta is sixth in the league in points per game but 27th in points per game allowed. If the season ended today, the Hawks would be in the play-in tournament.

Murray, 27, is averaging 21.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks this season while shooting 47.1% from the field, 39.0% from 3 and 83.2% from the free-throw line. The 2022 All-Star is making $17.7 million.

Murray has career averages of 14.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks with the San Antonio Spurs and Hawks. He made the 2017-18 All-Defensive Second Team and won the 2021-22 steals title as a member of the Spurs.

NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks Updates

It will be fascinating to see where Murray is playing after the trade deadline passes. Most NBA insiders expect the Lakers (22-23) to acquire the Washington product. Murray has a close relationship with LeBron and prefers to play for a playoff team, according to NBA insider Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer.
