Giannis’ Triple-Double Pushes Bucks To 122-113 Win Over Pistons

The Milwaukee Bucks emerged victorious over the Detroit Pistons with a 122-113 scoreline during Monday’s NBA action.

Giannis Antetokounmpo spearheaded the Bucks’ success with a triple-double, scoring 31 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists.

This win marked the Bucks’ fifth in their last six games. Khris Middleton also shone brightly, contributing 26 points and surpassing Glenn Robinson Sr. to become the third-highest scorer in the franchise’s history with 12,012 points.

“That’s pretty cool — I’m happy,” Middleton said. “I still have a lot I think I can do for this franchise and for our city.”

Bucks coach Adrian Griffin lauded Antetokounmpo’s pivotal role in the game’s closing minutes, acknowledging his impact on both ends of the court. Brook Lopez also made a significant contribution with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

“Giannis just took over the game in the last five minutes,” Griffin said. “He’s a phenomenal player, but he’s also a winning player who makes winning plays when we need them. He got to the line, he found open teammates, he got on the offensive glass and he was getting stops and blocks at the other end.”

Marcus Sasser led the scoring for the Pistons with 23 points off the bench, while Isaiah Stewart added 19 points and eight rebounds. Starter Jaden Ivey chipped in with 17 points.

“The last five or six minutes, we just stopped making winning plays,” Sasser said. “We gave up too many offensive rebounds and gave them too many second-chance points.”

Despite the loss, Pistons coach Monty Williams emphasized the need for his team to learn how to close out games.

“We’re competing with (the best) teams, but we’re not closing,” Williams said. “That has to be our next step.”

The game remained closely contested, with Milwaukee narrowly leading 58-56 at halftime. The Bucks struggled with their long-range shooting but managed to maintain their lead.
