Eagles Acquire Jaire Alexander From Packers In Blockbuster Trade Idea

The Green Bay Packers may be in for a rough offseason when it comes to star cornerback Jaire Alexander. Recently, Alexander posted what seemed like a goodbye to the team on Instagram. If the team is indeed going to trade Alexander this offseason, could the Philadelphia Eagles make a play for him?

Alexander has been one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks throughout his career. He is known as a lockdown coverage corner, which is something the Eagles are in major need of finding.

While the prospect of trading for Alexander would be interesting for most teams, the price tag won’t be cheap. Legitimate shutdown cornerbacks are hard to come by and expensive to acquire.

All of that being said, let’s take a look at one blockbuster trade idea that would send Alexander from the Packers to the Eagles.

A Packers-Eagles Trade Idea For Jaire Alexander

Packers Receive: 2024 First-Round Pick

Eagles Receive: Jaire Alexander, 2024 Sixth-Round Pick

Looking at this trade, it would make sense on the surface for both teams involved. It’s also likely going to be the price that the Packers are asking for in return for a talent like Alexander.

For the Eagles, giving up a first-round pick to win now would be a no-brainer. They have the roster to compete in the NFC and were one of the best teams in the NFL this season before suffering a late-season collapse. Giving up the pick for Alexander would be a major win.

On the other side of the trade, the Packers would be getting valuable draft capital to help replace Alexander. They’re a young team on the rise and a first-round pick could help them continue that rise.

Granted, the Packers would likely prefer to keep Alexander. Maybe the Instagram post was nothing, or maybe the two sides realize that parting ways is best after the star cornerback was suspended earlier this season. Either way, it’s a tough move to make, but this is a trade that would be worth making if they have to go this route.
