ESPN Predicts Titans Will Land Huge Defensive Free Agent

The Tennessee Titans are gearing up for the 2024 season, and one of their key areas of focus is the defensive line. With the departure of Teair Tart and the uncertainty surrounding Denico Autry’s impending free agency, the team faces some significant decisions.

According to ESPN’s Aaron Schatz, there’s a prediction that the Titans may make a move to sign veteran defensive lineman Leonard Williams during free agency.

Schatz highlights Williams’ versatility, as he has experience playing across the defensive line. This flexibility makes him a viable option for Tennessee, even if they manage to re-sign Autry.

Imagine a defensive line featuring Leonard Williams, Denico Autry, and Jeffery Simmons – it’s a formidable trio that would strike fear into the hearts of opposing offenses. Each of them possesses the ability to both rush the passer effectively and excel in run defense.

While Leonard Williams may not quite match Autry’s prowess as a pass-rusher, he would still be a valuable addition. He represents an upgrade over Teair Tart, particularly in the pass-rushing department, and stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Autry as a run defender.

In terms of finances, Spotrac estimates that Leonard Williams could command a three-year deal worth $14.8 million. Fortunately, this is a price tag that the Titans should be able to manage comfortably, giving them the potential to bolster their defensive line significantly in the upcoming season.
