Former NFL Star Isn’t So Sure About Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence

When the Jacksonville Jaguars made Trevor Lawrence the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, he was widely regarded as a once-in-a-generation talent.

Now, as he enters his third year in the NFL, the former Clemson Tiger has shown glimpses of his potential but continues to grapple with issues of inconsistency.

At the age of 24, Trevor Lawrence is on the verge of securing a lucrative contract extension, but there are doubts about whether he truly warrants such a significant investment.

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman, among others, is expressing skepticism about Lawrence’s value and whether he justifies a mega contract extension.

“They’ve lost five of six down the stretch and the only win they had, he wasn’t playing. C.J. Beathard played and won that game. It’s sad for this franchise that’s been through a lot to think they have their guy but at the end of the day, they’re going to have to pay him.”

Honestly, no one can say much different at this point in time. Granted, Lawrence has shown flashes of legitimate superstar potential. However, the flashes have not been consistent and it hasn’t translated to results on the field.

Despite that fact, the Jaguars can’t afford to move on from Lawrence. In other words, they’ll have to lock themselves in and simply hope that Trevor Lawrence figures it out moving forward.
