Ohio State Buckeyes Working To Steal Big-Time Alabama Commit

The Ohio State Buckeyes’ impressive recruiting efforts for the class of 2024 are already bearing fruit, but they are not resting on their laurels. Looking ahead to 2025, the Buckeyes are aiming to further bolster their roster, and they have their sights set on an elite target.

Ryan Day’s Ohio State program has earned a reputation as one of the best in the nation when it comes to recruiting and developing wide receivers.

In this regard, they share the spotlight with Alabama, another powerhouse in college football. However, recent reports suggest that Ohio State is actively pursuing a commitment flip from a highly coveted five-star wide receiver recruit currently pledged to Alabama.

Jaime Ffrench, ranked as the No. 3 wide receiver prospect in the 2025 class, has been firmly committed to Alabama since the previous summer. Despite his prior commitment, Ohio State is making a determined effort to sway him in their direction. Spearheading this recruitment campaign is Ohio State assistant coach Brian Hartline.

Ffrench shared his insights on the matter, stating, “He’s just saying ‘come to Columbus with me.’ He also just tells me to keep coming out, keep getting a feel for Ohio State more and more. Even my South Florida express guys, they’ve been on me as well to just keep coming up to Columbus.”

Ohio State has already secured a commitment from Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 wide receiver prospect in the 2024 class. Now, with their focused pursuit of Ffrench, the Buckeyes are poised to potentially add another highly-touted receiver to their ranks.

In summary, Ohio State’s reputation for excellence in recruiting and developing wide receivers continues to attract top talent. With their sights set on flipping the commitment of Jaime Ffrench, they aim to strengthen their already impressive 2025 recruiting class even further.
