Stefon Diggs is still remaining on the free-agent market as NFL training camp gets underway, a rather surprising development for a wide receiver who managed over 1,000 yards last season.
Diggs’ off-the-field behavior has certainly raised some red flags, and he did encounter some legal issues several months ago that almost surely played a role in the New England Patriots’ decision to release him.
However, Diggs has been cleared of those issues now, and with so many clubs in need of receiver help, you would think he would be generating significant interest.
One team that could absolutely use another wide out is the Baltimore Ravens, who don’t have a whole lot of proven options beyond Zay Flowers.
But instead of bringing in Diggs on a one-year contract, the Ravens decided to reunite with wide receiver Chris Moore. And it wasn’t like Baltimore couldn’t come to terms on a deal with Diggs either.
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, the Ravens simply weren’t interested in the four-time Pro Bowler, which speaks volumes considering how much they could use a veteran pass-catcher.
Diggs began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 and has also spent time with the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans before joining the Patriots for one year in 2025.
Throughout that time, the University of Maryland product has tallied seven 1,000-yard campaigns, and had it not been for a torn ACL that knocked him out after eight games in 2024, he may very well be aiming for his ninth straight 1,000-yard season heading into 2026.
It’s clear that Diggs can still play. He hauled in 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns last season, helping New England reach the Super Bowl.
But clearly, teams are wary about the 32-year-old, who was cut by the Pats after signing a three-year, $69 million deal with the club last offseason.
Surely, Diggs will land somewhere before the start of 2026. He’s too good not to find a home. But the fact that he is still without a home with August just around the corner is mind boggling.
