Skip Bayless Doesn’t Hold Back About Fever Star Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is playing some of the best basketball of her young career right now, and it’s starting to make waves around the WNBA.

The Indiana Fever star has been on a tear over her team’s last several games. She has averaged nearly 30 points a night while dishing out a high number of assists and grabbing her share of rebounds. Her shooting percentages have climbed as well, both from the field and from beyond the arc.

It all started heating up after a big outing against the Seattle Storm earlier this month when she poured in 45 points and handed out 10 assists. Since then, Clark has kept the momentum going, and the Fever have put together a solid winning streak because of it.

Sports commentator Skip Bayless took notice of the recent surge. In a post on social media, he said Clark is becoming a problem for the WNBA — but in a good way, at least for Indiana. He pointed out that she is starting to look like a serious MVP candidate and that her team, already one of the higher-scoring groups in the league, is shaping up as a real championship contender.

Bayless added a simple “Uh-oh” at the end of his comment, signaling that other teams might need to find answers soon if this version of Clark sticks around.

“Caitlin Clark is becoming a problem for the WNBA … on the court. She’s starting to look like the MVP and her highest-scoring team is looking like a championship threat. Uh-oh,” Bayless wrote.

Clark has looked more aggressive attacking the rim lately. She has not shied away from contact and has gotten to the free-throw line more often as a result. That willingness to drive, combined with her ability to knock down deep threes when defenders back off, has created a tough dilemma for opposing defenses.

In one recent game against the Portland Fire, she put together her fourth career triple-double. The performance helped the Fever secure another victory and added to the growing sense that Indiana is hitting its stride at the right time.

Clark reached the 1,500-point and 500-assist marks faster than anyone else in league history during this stretch. She has also moved up the all-time list for triple-doubles, tying for third place after her latest one.

The Fever rank among the top teams in the standings and lead the league in scoring. Their offense has been humming, and Clark sits at the center of it all as the primary playmaker and scorer.

Bayless has watched Clark closely since her college days at Iowa and through her first couple of seasons in the pros. His latest comments reflect how much she has elevated her game in recent weeks after dealing with some early-season challenges, including back issues that limited her minutes at times.

Whether Clark can keep this level of production going remains to be seen, of course. The WNBA season still has plenty of games left, and other contenders will throw different looks at her. But the early returns on this hot streak have people talking.

For now, the Indiana Fever are riding the wave of their star guard’s improved form. Clark continues to put up eye-catching numbers night after night, and the rest of the league is taking notice.

If she stays healthy and keeps attacking with the same confidence, the conversations about MVP and title chances will only grow louder.
