The San Francisco Giants have released six players from their Dominican Summer League (DSL) affiliates, according to the official MiLB transaction log.

The moves involved four players from DSL Giants Orange and two from DSL Giants Black, all of whom had remained at the Rookie-level complex in the Dominican Republic throughout their time in the organization.

The released players are shortstop Juan Colorado, right-hander Fernando Estrella, shortstop Jeyson Moya, and right-hander Gerson Rivero from DSL Giants Orange, along with right-hander Delvis Heredia and second baseman Boris Sarduy from DSL Giants Black. None had advanced beyond the DSL.

Colorado, a 20-year-old from Barcelona, Venezuela (born Sept. 18, 2006), signed with the Giants on Jan. 15, 2024. Across 95 games he hit .221/.324/.286 with two home runs and 43 RBI.

Moya, also signed on Jan. 15, 2024, is a 19-year-old from Philadelphia (born Oct. 28, 2006) who batted .155/.345/.226 with one home run and 20 RBI in 64 games.

Sarduy, signed the same day, is a Cuban second baseman (born Feb. 3, 2007, in Quemado de Güines) who posted a .198/.406/.271 line with two home runs and 24 RBI over 77 games, showing strong on-base skills at the complex level.

On the pitching side, Estrella, signed Sept. 30, 2021, from Montecristi in the Dominican Republic (born May 30, 2003), compiled a 10.68 ERA and 1.90 WHIP with 45 strikeouts in 44⅔ innings, limited to appearances in 2022 and 2026 because of injuries.

Heredia, signed July 3, 2023, from Guama, Venezuela (born Oct. 27, 2004), worked 63⅓ innings with a 5.40 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, and 47 strikeouts.

Rivero, the youngest of the group (born March 6, 2008, in Mariara, Venezuela), signed July 2, 2025, and recorded a 6.17 ERA and 2.06 WHIP with eight strikeouts in 11⅔ innings.

These releases are typical of the offseason roster management that occurs at the lowest rungs of a club’s minor-league system.

Teams regularly clear space on DSL rosters after the short summer season, evaluating which international signees have shown enough progress to continue in the organization.

The Giants’ concurrent activity on the major-league 40-man roster—reinstating players from the 60-day injured list while parting with others via waivers, outrights, and designations—underscored a broader organizational focus on roster efficiency following a 65-97 season.

The six DSL moves, however, remained confined to the complex level and did not involve players with experience in the Arizona Complex League or higher affiliates.

We’ll see what San Francisco has in store for MLB free agency.
