Just recently, Silver shared on social media his prediction that the 49ers are poised to move Samuel. He outlined a scenario where not trading Samuel might lead to an uncomfortable situation for the team.
“Imagine the 49ers keeping Deebo, then prioritizing Aiyuk, leading to Deebo spending a season overshadowed by his potential replacements. It’s a scenario that seems rather tense. Therefore, I’m anticipating a trade,” Silver commented.

Earlier today, Silver noted that the 49ers aim to secure at least a second-round draft pick in exchange for Samuel. Reports from the San Francisco Chronicle, citing various team executives, suggest that Samuel might be the player left out. There’s speculation that a deal could be reached either before the second round starts or during it, with the 49ers seeking second and third-round picks for the 2021 All-Pro receiver.
When asked about the possibility of trading one of his premier receivers, 49ers General Manager John Lynch was non-committal yet open to discussions. “We never completely shut the door on potential trades. We’re open to discussions, as we’ve been, but we are content with our current lineup,” Lynch stated.
