The Las Vegas Raiders enter the middle of the 2026 season at 3-2, still firmly in the AFC West conversation despite a lopsided Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots.

With Kirk Cousins under center and Ashton Jeanty emerging in the backfield, the offense has shown flashes, yet the wide receiver group remains a clear area of need.

Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor have produced modest contributions, while the rest of the room has yet to establish consistent production.

Adding a proven outside threat would give Cousins another reliable target alongside tight end Brock Bowers and help the unit sustain drives against the stronger defenses still on the schedule.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox highlighted the Raiders as one of the top potential landing spots for Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. in his Week 6 trade block big board.

Knox projected that the Raiders would need to send a 2027 second-round pick and a sixth-rounder to the Jaguars to complete the deal.

That package reflects Thomas’ age, pedigree, and remaining upside more than his limited role so far this season.

Thomas burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2024, posting 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Production has declined since, and through five games in 2026 he has just nine catches for 105 yards and one score.

Jacksonville sits at 4-1 and holds a comfortable position in the AFC South, so the team is not forced to sell.

Reports have indicated the Jaguars have shown little interest in moving him, yet the recent return Arizona received for Marvin Harrison Jr. could shift their calculus.

With rookie Josh Cameron beginning to earn targets, Jacksonville may view a second-round selection plus additional draft capital as a sensible way to retool without sacrificing the present.

For the Raiders, the fit is straightforward. Thomas is only 24 and still possesses the size, speed, and contested-catch ability that made him a first-round selection.

Landing him would immediately upgrade the perimeter and give Las Vegas a vertical threat capable of stretching defenses.

The cost is not insignificant, but a second- and sixth-round combination is within the range of what contending teams have paid for established wideouts at midseason.

With the trade deadline set for November 10, the Raiders have a short window to decide whether the investment is worth elevating their passing attack for the stretch run and beyond.
