Tankathon’s latest 2027 NFL mock draft has Alabama cornerback Zabien Brown coming off the board at No. 41 overall, the ninth pick of the second round, a projection that lines up with one of the Green Bay Packers’ clearest roster questions.
Brown is listed at 6-foot-0 and 194 pounds. Tankathon ranks him 43rd overall and fifth among cornerbacks.
Through four games this season he has nine tackles and four passes defensed for 4-0 Alabama. He broke up a career-high three passes against Florida State in a 50-36 win.
The production that put him on boards came earlier. As a true freshman in 2024 he started immediately, intercepted three passes and returned a fumble for a touchdown. In 2025 he had 39 tackles, six pass breakups and two pick-sixes, including a 99-yard return against Tennessee that ranks among the longest in program history.
Career totals: 64 tackles, 11 passes defensed, five interceptions and two defensive touchdowns in 31 games. He was the first Alabama corner with two interception returns for scores in a season since Antonio Langham in 1992.
Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, produced a five-star recruit who chose Alabama over Georgia, Ohio State and USC. Speed and ball skills showed up early. Physicality and run support are part of the pitch. Size on the boundary is the question NFL teams will keep asking.
Green Bay has lived with that question at the position since cutting Jaire Alexander. Keisean Nixon is the established starter. Carrington Valentine, a 2023 seventh-round pick, has started 34 games including playoffs but is in a contract year after a season that included six touchdowns allowed and a high missed-tackle rate.
The Packers drafted Brandon Cisse in the second round in 2026 and signed Benjamin St-Juste. The CB2 job has been a competition, not a settled pairing. Nixon and Valentine are both headed toward free agency decisions.
A second-round corner with Brown’s starting résumé would give general manager Brian Gutekunst a younger option who has already played SEC receivers every week. Green Bay has drafted the position before and still ended up rotating. This mock treats the need as unfinished.
Leonard Moore of Notre Dame and Ellis Robinson IV of Georgia are the corners ranked ahead of Brown on Tankathon’s board. Both are first-round projections. Brown is the next tier: a three-year starter with splash plays and a captain’s letter at Alabama.
Tankathon updates after every game and factors team needs. The Packers are not locked at pick 41. Records will move the slot. Cornerback will not disappear as a topic if Valentine leaves and Cisse is still developing.
Brown has not intercepted a pass yet in 2026. The Florida State game showed the coverage disruption that made him a preseason All-American candidate. That is the tape Green Bay would be buying.
