It’s been a rough week for Brian Daboll, head coach of the New York Giants. The team suffered a devastating blow in Week 7, squandering a 19-point lead in the fourth quarter against the Denver Broncos.

This collapse marked a significant setback for a Giants squad that had been riding high, fueled by the momentum of quarterback Jaxson Dart’s impressive performance in his first three starts, which included two victories.

The loss not only deflated the team’s spirit but also drew sharp criticism from analysts who pointed fingers at Daboll for overseeing the most dramatic meltdown of the 2025 NFL season so far.

Adding to Daboll’s woes, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported on Thursday that the coach is facing a hefty fine due to his conduct during the Giants’ divisional matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 9. The incident involved Daboll’s actions around the team’s sideline medical tent and the doctors administering the NFL’s mandatory concussion protocol for Dart.

“For entering the blue medical tent and yelling at doctors during a concussion evaluation for Jaxson Dart two weeks ago, the Giants head coach faces a fine that will likely be at least $100,000,” Jones wrote. “The NFL could also fine the Giants organization. In an extreme case, the league could also dock the Giants a draft pick, though I don’t get the sense that would take place.”

This potential six-figure fine, and possibly further penalties for the Giants organization, casts a shadow over the team as they prepare for another clash with the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday.

Despite their commanding 17-point victory over the Eagles less than two weeks ago, the Giants are listed as 7.5-point underdogs, according to ESPN BET.

Jones noted that the NFL is expected to formally impose the fine on Daboll “at any point within the next week or two.”

While the 2025 NFL season hasn’t gone exactly how New York was hoping it would go, there are reasons for optimism. Dart and Cam Skattebo have been nothing short of electrifying.

Hopefully, the team can keep growing and developing through the rest of the year. It will be interesting to see what the NFL chooses to do when it comes to Daboll’s punishment.
