New York Knicks Potential 2024 NBA Draft Plans Revealed

There are a lot of eyes on the New York Knicks heading into the 2024 NBA offseason. They had a great 2023-24 campaign, winning 50 games in the regular season and earning the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. But, injuries derailed them in the end, as their absences were too much to overcome.

There have already been a lot of rumors swirling about what the Knicks could look to do this offseason. They have an incredible core in place, led by All-NBA point guard Jalen Brunson. The supporting cast is strong, with All-Star power forward Julius Randle as his running mate.

But, there are some major decisions to make this offseason. The team has several free agents, including OG Anunoby, Isaiah Hartenstein, Alec Burks and Precious Achiuwa. Retaining all of them will be difficult, as Leon Rose will likely have to find alternative options to fill out the roster.

One of those alternative options could come in the 2024 NBA Draft. New York will be on the clock at Nos. 24, 25 and 38, giving them plenty of opportunities to add talent to their roster. After not making a first-round pick the last two years, it would behoove the Knicks to restock their roster with high-upside, developmental talent.

However, that may not be the route they opt to take. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sport, via NBA Central on X, the New York Knicks are looking to trade their first-round picks in the upcoming draft.

“Definitely word around the league is that they are looking to move those,” Fischer said.

Always in the market for a star player, the New York Knicks could be looking to package those picks and other assets to upgrade their roster. But, it would not be surprising to see New York opt to run it back and hope for better injury luck.

Before Randle and Anunoby went down, the Knicks were the best team in the NBA, dominant on both ends of the court. New York could also be looking to consolidate selections and move up the board, knowing they can’t keep three rookies.
