As the New York Knicks continue their playoff push following a game one win against the Indiana Pacers, ESPN recently commented on what their greatest strength is.

After a thrilling series against the Philadelphia 76ers, the New York Knicks were able to keep up their winning ways. In Game 1 of their series against the Indiana Pacers, the Knicks were able to win in a high-scoring affair.

The pace of the game and the scoreboard definitely felt like it was in the Pacers’ favor, but the Knicks were able to come away with a win to start the series, and that is always a good thing.

Recently, ESPN spoke about what the biggest strength was for the Knicks. Here’s what they had to say.

Perhaps no team in the NBA is tougher or more all-encompassing than the Knicks — something that is illustrated whenever they outmuscle an opponent for an offensive rebound. Put another way: It is seemingly demonstrated all the time because New York dominates the offensive glass. The club grabbed a whopping 37% of its misses in the first round against Joel Embiid and the Sixers (and nearly 41% of its misses in the clinching Game 6). That came after the Knicks logged a league-high 33.3% offensive rebound rate in the regular season.

It’s hard to argue with offensive rebounding being the greatest strength of the Knicks right now. As we saw in their series against the 76ers, the Knicks can be relentless on the glass.

Currently, the Knicks have some excellent rebounders in the middle with Isaiah Hartenstein and Mitchell Robinson, but they also have the best rebounding guard in the NBA; Josh Hart. While the Knicks might not be the most efficient offensive team in terms of shooting the basketball, they are excellent at creating second chances.

As the series with the Pacers goes on, the Knicks will certainly be continuing to attack the glass and it very well could be the difference in the series.
