New York Jets Predicted to Make Earthshaking Trade

With a dismal 1-7 start to the season, the New York Jets are widely expected to shake up their roster ahead of the NFL trade deadline—a move that aligns with their dire need for a reset.

At the forefront of trade speculation is running back Breece Hall, whose rookie deal expires after this year, potentially pricing him out of the Jets’ long-term plans.

Hall has delivered a solid performance so far, amassing 581 rushing yards and two scores on a 5.0-yard average, complemented by 21 receptions totaling 178 yards.

That output could fetch a respectable haul for the Jets, with insiders suggesting a Day 2 draft selection if they pull the trigger on a deal before November 4.

Yet, Bleacher Report analyst Brad Gagnon offers a contrasting take.

Gagnon anticipates the Jets will indeed ship Hall out, landing him with the Kansas City Chiefs, but he foresees only a “late-round pick” coming back to New York.

Securing just a Day 3 selection for Hall would sting, given his impressive output this season and youth at 24 years old. Plus, the Jets could snag a third-round compensatory pick if he walks in free agency.

That said, compensatory selections aren’t straightforward. New York would need to see more departures than arrivals in free agency to qualify, and any such pick wouldn’t arrive until 2027 anyway.

Even so, it underscores Hall’s true market worth, rendering a late-round swap for the ex-Iowa State standout a raw deal.

In that light, the Jets might fare better gambling on an offseason extension for Hall, despite the steep cost likely ahead.

Even with that said, the team’s roster overflows with critical gaps, making a hefty commitment to a non-elite back an inefficient allocation of funds.

Expect plenty of possible suitors to emerge for Hall in the coming days, which could spark competitive offers and help the Jets extract meaningful draft assets for their one-time second-round gem.
