The New York Giants have been on the lookout for a No. 1 receiver essentially since trading Odell Beckham Jr. to the Cleveland Browns. After some missed attempts, they are hoping they finally got it right with Malik Nabers.

Another LSU star, Malik Nabers was selected with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He has all the tools to become a star in the NFL and the New York Giants are hoping that he can make an immediate impact.

Placing expectations on him to replicate what Beckham did with the New York Giants at the start of his career wouldn’t be fair. But after watching Malik Nabers during OTAs and mandatory minicamp, it is hard not to see similarities between the LSU standouts.

As shared by Jordan Raanan of ESPN, the No. 6 overall pick has been the player people are keeping an eye on the most during offseason workouts. He has turned some heads and impressed, including quarterback Daniel Jones.

“It didn’t take long for the Giants’ top pick to make a strong impression. “I mean, he can do everything,” quarterback Daniel Jones said. Nabers spent the spring flashing his special talent and making plays all over the field with the first-team offense, which the Giants hope is a sign of things to come,” Raanan wrote.

With Malik Nabers already ascending near the top of the pecking order in the passing game, things are falling into place for the New York Giants. What was once considered a weakness could quickly turn into a strength.

Along with Nabers, Big Blue has intriguing wide receivers in Wan’Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt and Bryce Ford-Wheaton. Allen Robinson and Isaiah McKenzie are newcomers and along with mainstay Darius Slayton, provide reliable, steady veteran leadership for the young guys to lean on and learn from.

This is a deep and talented group of pass catchers the New York Giants quarterbacks have to work with. With improvements made to the offensive line, they should have a chance to produce early and often.

The key to this group taking off is Malik Nabers. If he can hit the ground running in the regular season, as his offseason work has hinted at, the New York Giants offense will surprise some people.
