The New York Giants have terminated the contract of wide receiver Beaux Collins, waiving the second-year player with an injury settlement on Friday.
The move ends Collins’ brief tenure with the franchise after a promising but injury-interrupted start to his NFL career.
Collins, a 6-foot-3 wideout with impressive size and length for the position, joined the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame following the 2025 NFL Draft. After three seasons at Clemson, he transferred to the Fighting Irish for his final college year, where he recorded solid production.
He quickly impressed during the 2025 preseason, making the 53-man roster as the only undrafted free agent to do so that year. His combination of frame, athleticism, and special-teams willingness made him a fan favorite early on.
In the 2025 regular season, Collins appeared in nine games and recorded two receptions for 25 yards. A neck injury suffered in Week 9 against the San Francisco 49ers landed him on injured reserve, cutting short his rookie campaign. He returned to practice late in the year but was unable to rejoin the active roster before the season ended.
Heading into the 2026 offseason and training camp, Collins faced a more competitive receiver room. A concussion sidelined him during camp, prompting the Giants to waive him with an injury designation in early August. After clearing waivers, he reverted to the team’s injured reserve list.
The subsequent injury settlement releases him from the roster, allowing Collins to focus on recovery and pursue opportunities with other teams once healthy.
At 6-foot-3 and around 206 pounds, Collins possesses the kind of size that NFL teams covet in outside receivers and red-zone threats.
That physical presence, paired with his college pedigree and early flashes of big-play ability (including an 80-yard touchdown in the 2025 preseason), suggests he still has upside if he can stay on the field. Injuries have been the primary obstacle so far, limiting his ability to build on the limited production and special-teams contributions he showed as a rookie.
For the Giants, the decision reflects the realities of roster management and a deeper wide receiver group in 2026. Collins’ release frees up a spot and modest cap space while giving the young receiver a clean path to find a new home.
As he works back to full health, several teams could view the 23-year-old as a low-risk addition with developmental potential, particularly given his height and frame.
Collins’ story remains unfinished. The physical tools that helped him make the Giants as an undrafted free agent remain intact.
If he can put the injuries behind him, the 6-foot-3 receiver still has a chance to carve out a longer career in the league.
