Following a contract extension with the New York Giants last season, quarterback Daniel Jones found himself under scrutiny, with many arguing that star running back Saquon Barkley deserved the deal instead.

Despite the franchise’s affirmation of Jones as their starting quarterback, the 2023 NFL season proved disastrous for him, failing to justify his position on the team.

Speculation emerged that the Giants were considering moving on from Jones to draft their next franchise quarterback.

Monday saw an uncomfortable moment for Jones and the Giants during a press conference, where questions about his future with the team arose.

When directly asked if he believed he was the right choice for the job going forward, Jones responded with the expected diplomacy, as seen in a tweet by Giants Videos.

Despite Jones’ response, the Giants could join the ranks of teams eyeing a rookie quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Holding the No. 6 overall pick, they have a chance to secure a top-tier quarterback or explore trade options to improve their draft position and acquire a player who has piqued their interest.

It will be interesting to see what the New York Giants choose to do in the NFL Draft. They just invested a lot of money into Daniel Jones, could they give him another chance? Only time will tell.
