The Minnesota Vikings are getting set to face the Green Bay Packers this Sunday, but the problem is that the Vikings don’t know for sure who will be under center for the Packers.

Malik Willis has played the last couple of games after Jordan Love suffered a knee injury in Week 1, but Love has not been ruled out against Minnesota.

So, how is Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell preparing?

“We’ll prepare as if both will play,” O’Connell said, via Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk.

That will require a couple of different gameplans for Minnesota.

“[T]hey are different with Malik in there. At the same time, he made some big-time throws and moved the team,” O’Connell said. “There were chunks on the tape that we’ve got to try to keep off of our tape. Then Jordan’s in there, we’ve seen it firsthand — when he gets into a rhythm and gets going, he’s as talented of a thrower as there is in our league. We got to be prepared for both of them.”

Willis has been very impressive in his two starts, going 25-for-33 with 324 yards and a couple of touchdowns while posting a 122.7 passer rating. Additionally, he has rushed for 114 yards and a score.

Most importantly, Green Bay has gone 2-0 in Willis’ starts.

“We’re not going to get the benefit of knowing exactly what we’re gonna see so we’ve got to make sure we’ve got a game plan that’s extensive for both those guys,” added O’Connell.

The Vikings themselves have been dominant in the early stages of the 2024 campaign, getting off to a 3-0 start. Most recently, they hammered the Houston Texans.

We’ll see if O’Connell and the Minnesota Vikings and maintain their NFC North lead with a victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 4.
