Davante Adams has requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, and Milwaukee Bucks star Damian Lillard is not happy about it.

Lillard, an Oakland native, has taken to social media to voice his displeasure about the situation and does not want to see Adams dealt for what he would consider a skimpy return.

The problem is that the Raiders may not get anything more for Adams at this stage.

Not only is Adams aging (he is 31 years old), but Las Vegas instantly lost significant leverage due to Adams’ trade demand.

Adams is under contract through 2026, so the Raiders actually don’t have to be in any rush to move him. Plus, Las Vegas actually hasn’t looked too bad this year, going 2-2 over its first four games.

But on the flip side, do the Raiders really want to keep a malcontent on their roster all season?

Las Vegas initially acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers back in March 2022. Adams had a spectacular debut campaign in Vegas, hauling in 100 receptions for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns. Last year, however, he took a step back, catching 103 passes for 1,144 yards and eight scores.

So, is the veteran wide out declining? Perhaps, but he has still shown signs of being elite this season, logging 18 catches for 209 yards and a score in three contests (he missed Week 4 due to an injury).

If the Raiders do decide to give into Adams’ wishes, there would be no shortage of potential trade suitors.

We’ll see what the Las Vegas Raiders decide to do with Davante Adams, but one thing is for sure: Damian Lillard it not amused.
