The blast arrived in the first inning and immediately became the centerpiece of the club’s social-media celebration. At 22 and still in only his third big-league campaign, Chourio has now posted 20 or more homers in each of his first three seasons.
That consistency places him in rare company. He is just the second player in Brewers history, after Ryan Braun, to reach 20 homers in each of his first three major-league years.
Broader historical lists put him among only 15 players ever to record three separate 20-homer, 20-double seasons before turning 23. The numbers themselves tell a story of steady growth: 21 homers as a rookie, 21 again in year two, and 20 so far in 2026.
The evening carried extra local flavor. Saturday had been designated Chourio Bowl Night; the first 25,000 fans through the gates received a commemorative bowl bearing the outfielder’s name.
Cooper Pratt also returned to the lineup that night, adding another layer of optimism to a club that has spent most of the summer near the top of the National League Central. After the Rangers series ends, Milwaukee turns next to the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds.
Chourio’s 2026 line through 101 games underscores why the organization is so bullish. He has collected 117 hits, 22 doubles, 56 RBIs and 14 stolen bases while hitting .282 with a .343 on-base percentage.
Those figures represent the strongest all-around season of his young career and suggest the power surge is being accompanied by improved plate discipline and extra-base consistency.
Manager Pat Murphy, speaking after the win, described a player who is still learning the finer points of the game yet already possesses elite tools. Murphy pointed to Chourio’s bat speed, the short path his hands take from load to contact, and the strength that allows him to drive the ball to all fields.
Equally important, the manager said, is the outfielder’s demeanor: he arrives every day with a smile, refuses to linger on slumps, and rarely turns self-critical. That combination of physical gifts and even temperament, Murphy suggested, is what makes Chourio special.
Three years into his career, Chourio has already established himself as a fixture in Milwaukee’s everyday outfield. The 20-homer milestone is less a destination than another marker on a trajectory that continues to climb.
For a Brewers team chasing October baseball, that kind of young production is exactly the announcement they wanted to make while the Rangers were still in town.
