NFL Legend Fires Massive Shot at Former Cowboys Star

DeMarcus Lawrence has made it very clear that there was some drama within the Dallas Cowboys locker room this past year, and it was likely between him and Micah Parsons.

Lawrence recently signed with the Seattle Seahawks, and during one of his first interviews with his new team, he said it was clear he was never going to win a Super Bowl in Dallas. That led to a back-and-forth exchange between Lawrence and Parsons on social media, in which it was blatantly obvious that the two star defenders were harboring some ill will toward each other.

Well, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin does not like what he has been hearing, and he took it upon himself to throw a massive shot at Lawrence, criticizing the edge rusher for not taking more responsibility for the situation in Big D.

“You may be angry at the Dallas Cowboys, but to throw back that dart and try to hit them in the head sticks you right in the neck,” Irvin said on his YouTube channel. “Dude you were there. Do something about it. Don’t leave then talk about it. The side of the ball you was on was the direct damn problem.”

Irvin than alluded to the idea that Lawrence may have been jealous of Parsons because Parsons stole his shine upon being drafted in 2021.

“D-Law was the man here,” Irvin said. “We were paying him the big money. And here comes this young cat Micah Parsons and he wrecks house. Took over the house.”

There was a time when Lawrence was one of the better pass rushers in the NFL, as he logged back-to-back double-digit sack campaigns in 2017 and 2018. He racked up 14.5 sacks in the former season.

Since then, however, Lawrence has not finished with above 6.5 sacks in any one individual year and was actually a fairly significant disappointment during the back half of his tenure with the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, Parsons has already accumulated 52.5 sacks in four NFL seasons, putting himself on pace to become one of the most prolific pass rushers in league history.

Whatever the case may be, it appears that trouble was certainly brewing in Dallas this past year, which may have played a role in the Cowboys shockingly finishing 28th in defense and going 7-10 overall.
