The Los Angeles Rams brought cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean back to their practice squad this week, adding the undrafted rookie once more after a brief absence from the roster.

The move came as part of a series of roster adjustments that also included promoting Cam Lampkin from the practice squad to the active roster and placing running back Dean Connors on injured reserve. Fourqurean had been released from the practice squad in late October to clear space for other additions.

Fourqurean, a 24-year-old from Mentor, Ohio, signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft after going unselected. He spent time with the team through training camp and the preseason before the initial cutdown to 53 players.

He stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 190 pounds. At Wisconsin’s pro day earlier this year, he ran a 4.65-second 40-yard dash, posted a 37-inch vertical jump, and recorded a 10-foot-1 broad jump.

Fourqurean’s path to the NFL included stops at Grand Valley State and Wisconsin.

At Grand Valley State in 2022, he recorded 37 tackles and four interceptions while leading the GLIAC with 14 pass breakups. He earned first-team All-GLIAC honors and recognition as a Division II All-American that season.

After transferring, he played two seasons with the Badgers. In 2023, limited at times by thoracic outlet syndrome, he totaled 39 tackles and two sacks. In 2024, he started all 12 games and finished with 51 tackles, one interception returned 10 yards, and five passes defended.

An eligibility dispute with the NCAA prevented him from playing in 2025. After exhausting his four seasons of eligibility, he sought an additional year based on his Division II time, but the effort ultimately failed, leaving him without a final college season before entering the draft process.

During the 2026 preseason with the Rams, Fourqurean appeared in all three games and recorded 13 tackles along with one pass defended and one forced fumble. He had four tackles against the Chiefs, four tackles plus a pass breakup and forced fumble against the Saints, and five tackles against the Chargers.

The Rams waived him on Aug. 30 as part of final roster cuts, then signed him to the practice squad the following day. He remained there until late October, when the team released him to accommodate other practice squad signings, including kicker Joshua Karty and long snapper Jake McQuaide.

Fourqurean has not appeared in a regular-season game for the Rams. He has yet to record any defensive snaps in the NFL’s regular season, remaining a developmental piece on the practice squad while the team manages its cornerback depth.

The Rams have dealt with various roster and injury considerations in the secondary this season. Practice squad players like Fourqurean provide depth that can be elevated if needed, though elevations are limited to a set number of times per season under league rules.

Teams can carry up to 16 players on the practice squad, plus one additional international player. The Rams have used the practice squad throughout the year to retain and develop young players who showed potential in camp but did not initially secure active roster spots.

Fourqurean’s return gives the Rams continued access to a cornerback who demonstrated tackling ability and ball skills in the preseason. At this stage of the season, practice squad retention often focuses on players who can step in on special teams or provide emergency depth on defense.

The timing of the signing aligns with other adjustments the Rams made around the same period, reflecting the ongoing nature of roster management deep into the regular season. Players frequently move between the active roster, practice squad, and waivers as teams evaluate needs week to week.

Fourqurean remains listed as a practice squad member wearing No. 25. His continued presence with the organization offers another opportunity to develop within the Rams’ system after the challenges of his college eligibility situation and the competitive nature of making an NFL roster as an undrafted player.
