The Los Angeles Rams released cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean and linebacker Elias Neal from the practice squad on Tuesday as part of roster adjustments ahead of Week 8, via the NFL transaction wire.

Both players had been retained on the developmental unit after failing to make the initial 53-man roster earlier in the year, but the organization opted to move on from them to free up space.

Fourqurean arrived in Los Angeles as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft. The 24-year-old from Mentor, Ohio, took a circuitous route to the professional level.

He began his college career at Division II Grand Valley State, where he emerged as a standout in 2022 by recording four interceptions and earning first-team All-GLIAC honors along with Division II All-American recognition.

After entering the transfer portal, he landed at Wisconsin, where he started games in the secondary and contributed as a physical coverage player despite dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome that limited him at times.

An eligibility dispute with the NCAA kept him off the field in 2025, but a strong pro-day workout helped him earn a chance with the Rams.

He was waived at final cutdown in late August and immediately re-signed to the practice squad, where he remained available for potential elevations while developing behind other cornerbacks on the depth chart.

Neal, also known as Eli Neal, brought more NFL experience to the practice squad despite a similar undrafted path.

The 25-year-old from Memphis signed with the Rams after going unselected in the 2024 Draft out of Marshall, where he had been a productive tackler in the Sun Belt Conference, amassing nearly 375 career stops and earning third-team All-Sun Belt recognition in his final season.

He made the Rams’ initial 53-man roster as a rookie and appeared in five games before being waived and re-signed to the practice squad.

Over the subsequent seasons he bounced between the active roster, practice squad, and reserve/future deals, accumulating snaps almost exclusively on special teams across roughly ten career games without defensive or offensive involvement.

He was elevated multiple times for game-day duty, including earlier this season, before landing back on the practice squad following the 2026 final cuts.

The dual releases clear room on a practice squad that had carried both players since the end of August.

Neither had secured a consistent foothold on the 53-man roster, and the move ends their current stints with the organization as the Rams continue refining depth options heading into the second half of the season.

Both will now look for opportunities elsewhere as free agents.
